If my playing approaches this guy at some point I will be a happy man. I approached it, and long behold, it was a Squier Bullet Strat.
And, it matches my surf green Fender Sonoran : Great value, Great product. The fit and finish were terrific, and it kind of reminds me of those old American hot rods with the cool color. This stylish Strat also features a slim, C-shaped neck which provides a comfortable playing experience. The guitar is cosmetically flawless, the neck is straight, the intonation is dead perfect! Most people that have these give them favorable reviews as well! Researched for weeks before settling on the surf strat. Squier is the launching pad for beginners, pointing intermediate and advancing guitarists toward their ultimate goal-owning a Fender! Bullet nut width is 1. This was the best setup, ready to play out of the box guitar, that I have ever had the pleasure of ordering online.
The Surf Stratocaster had a lively acoustic sound with ample body vibration that gave it distinctly musical feel—an attribute often lacking in instruments at this price point. The guitar was not setup at all. Heck, I wish I could send them some of my other guitars to setup. I'll sit there, strum, play and when I put the guitar back on the stand I just have a moment of being wowed by just how good that guitar is. Other than that, good guitar. Its a 2005 Gretsch 5129 I picked up this year. I really like the sound I get from it and most of the quality is much higher than I would expect from such a low priced instrument. I was greatly impressed with the pickups and the neck especially. I had been reading reviews of Sweetwater and decided to order from them but was now even shorter on time and by the time my order was submitted to Sweetwater, even with 2 day shipping didn't look like it was going to make it in time. So much fun to play this guitar, that I can't believe how well it stacks up compared to my Fender American Special Strat. For now, I can bang out Rebel Rouser and some surf tunes on it.
The Bobtail has the biscuit bridge. Thanks to Mike at Sweetwater and the whole team for yet another great instrument at a killer price, with excellent service!
